On September 26, 2022, the first "Roadshow of the New York Convention" in Bulgaria was held in the building of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized by the founders of Young Bulgarian Arbitration Practitioners - lawyer Velislava Hristova and lawyer Stanislav Cherkezov, with the courtesy of the BCCI.
Within the framework of the event, the main points in the application of the New York Convention were discussed, emphasizing the Bulgarian translation of the "Guide of the International Council of Commercial Arbitration on the Interpretation of the New York Convention of 1958: A Guide for Judges" as a tool to help judges, arbitrators and anyone with an interest in international commercial arbitration.
The topics of the forum were presented by prominent Bulgarian specialists in the field of international arbitration, with extensive experience in private practices, academic and arbitration institutions around the world: Prof. Stanimir Aleksandrov - vice president of the International Council of Commercial Arbitration (ICCA); Adv. Velislava Hristova - Vice President of the Committee on International Arbitration of the American Bar Association; Adv. Silvia Tonova - arbitrator at the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC); Adv. Aleksandar Katsarski – Deputy Chairman of the AC at the BCCI. The speakers presented to the participants interesting presentations on the topics and shared their experience, opportunities and practices in this field.
