On November 6, 2019, a meeting-discussion of the arbitrators from the Arbitration Court at the BCCI was held in the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with lawyer Remy Gerbay, who is a leading lawyer in the law firm MoloLamken LLP, Washington.
The meeting was devoted to the development of investment arbitration. The main topic that the meeting focused on was: "Is the protection and tools of an arbitration court sufficient to protect the interests of a trader or investor before the state, or should arbitration be seen more as a means of quickly resolving conflicts between traders".
Mr. Branimir Botev, CEO of EISA, welcomed the participants. He introduced Mr. Gerbay to the participants, highlighting his many years of experience in the field of international investment and financial disputes before the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
Attorney Gerbay gave the participants a short presentation on the topic and shared his experience, opportunities and practices in this field.
